The pioneer of artistic perfumery
Created in an era where perfume was becoming an overly commercial mass market product, L’Artisan Parfumeur can be considered the pioneer in the artistic niche movement. Envisioned by the unfortunately now deceased Jean Laporte, the French brand has created some of the most innovative perfumes of the 80’s and 90’s.
Legendary fragrances such Mure et Musc (1978), Premier Figuier (the very first fig perfume), the deliciously animalic Dzing! (a lion’s cage never smelled so sexy) and Timbuktu all hail from the world famous perfume house. Focusing on good raw materials and original creations, L’Artisan Parfumeur has launched great perfumers such as Jean-Clade Ellena (Hermes), Olivia Giacobetti (Diptyque, Lubin) and Bertrand Duchaufour (everywhere). L’Artisan Parfumeur is also known for it’s amazing Boule D’Ambre, a hand made terracotta interior object that spreads an ambery fragrance for up to 10 years.
