Inspired by Ben Gorham’s personal ties to Africa—and the stories passed down from his father—Bal d’Afrique was created as an imaginary journey celebrating the continent’s influence on art, dance, and music.
In this intensified Absolu version, the gourmand facet is amplified. Bright bergamot, lemon, and blackcurrant open with bold vibrance, softening into a sweet blend of praline, musks, and violet. The fragrance settles into a deeper, more addictive base of cedarwood, vetiver, and warm black amber.
The redesigned Absolu de Parfum bottle reflects this craftsmanship. Its textured Yakisugi-inspired cap evokes intensity and transformation, while the silver-gold atomizer and clean glass silhouette complete the elemental look. The darker liquid inside visually signals the richer concentration of the Absolu.
