EXIT THE KING

A perfume conceptually so advanced it can only entice the most dedicated of perfume afficionados : The scent of entropy, cumulating in the banishment of the old and the embrace of the new. Revolution, the king’s head on the scaffold for the guillotine. Old norms on the pyre.

“Exit The King” starts from the most classically perceived category within perfumery: The Chypre. That scent of classic, sophisticated ladies. If sweet ambers are the scent of new money, then a classic Chypre is that of vintage nobility.

But then, soap suds and bleach, a penetrating aldehyde note trying to scrub away the past. Will it succeed? Do the metallic aldehydes kill the chypre, or is it absorbed and does the classic structure ultimately prevail?
